Student films are always expected to present a combination of theoretical and practical knowledge learned in class and their personal obsessions and views and take brave steps in formal and thematic innovation. Their independence from box-office revenues and therefore from clichés of mainstream cinema and other concerns of professional filmmaking, gives the students the freedom to create different and innovative films. In international festivals, more than once student films have taken the audience by surprise. This is why we expect them to be more than class exercises.
In this section of the festival, 29 films from 15 countries, selected from among a much large number of films submitted by more than 48 universities and educational institutions, will be screened. The presence of students, teachers, and other participants and decision makers in the field of animation, creates the opportunity for presentation and judgment of the gist of activity of hundreds of students and teachers in numerous educational centers in an organized manner in a very short time. Anybody can take this opportunity to pick the most according to its needs and desire.
