Bahram Rouhani: TV Animation

Born in 1950, Tehran, Bahram Rouhani graduated from Fine Art Faculty of Tehran University and went to France to study at Paris Academy Of Decorative Arts to obtain his M.A. degree in animation. He continued his studies of PhD degree in Paris and graduated in "Language of Cinema". He has authored several educational booklets in the field of film language. He had begun his career in animation field, as storyboard designer in a TV series. After a while, he started his first independent works in France with collaboration of a French animator; first of which was a 26 episode series for France Channel 2, produced in 1983 to 1984.

Some of his works include: The Thousand and one Nights (13×30min, for Channel 2), Denver (France/USA, 42×26min), Little Dracula (France/USA, 36×26min) and Titan TV series (13×30min for Channel 1 & 2). The most famous TV series he has directed is 26 episodes of "Ninja Turtles".

He has also experienced teaching at film school of C.F.T de Gobelines & Center National De La Band Desginée l'Image.

Along the 5th Tehran Animation Festival, Rouhani will hold an educational workshop to teach TV animation basics and share his experiences in Europe with students and actives in the field of animation.



Vajihollah Fard-Moqaddam: Workshop of "Applicable Literature For Animation"

Vajihollah Fard-Moqaddam is one of the most experienced animators of KANOON, who has passed a course on puppet filmmaking in Trenka studio, after passing the first KANOON course of animation. Among his works; "The Intruder" (1976) as his first and "Li Li Hozak" (1992) as his last animation are mentionable. He has made a middle-length live-action movie for children titled "The Man & His Promise".

In the 3rd edition of Tehran Animation Festival, a retrospective of his works was held and he was also a member of the 4th edition Jury.

His participation in animation works consists of working as photographer, screen writer, painter, animator, advisor professor and director assistant and also teaching besides.

As the title of the workshop indicates, the functional aspects of Iranian ancient tales for adaptation to animation will be discussed in this course.

Some of the subjects that will be discussed in the workshop are: "Choosing & Creating Subject For Short Animations", "Transforming a Real Subject to a Fantasy Script", "Appropriation of time, Place, Discourse, Theme & Graphic in Animation", "Refrain from super facial approaches to scriptwriting", "Intimacy & frankness in scriptwriting", etc.
