Hoor Cultural and Art Company


The animation Department of "Rank Xerox" Branch in Iran was formed in 1991, and embarked upon investing on computer animation by recruiting enthusiastic individuals. Following three years of experience in 2D and 3D animation and numerous interesting exhibitions for Xerox Co., the animation team separated in 1994 in order to form Hoor Animation Company in the same year and to engage in professional work. Hoor Animation has played an important role in regards to quality, volume and diversity of their production.
During the past 13 years, Shahab Kasraiee has thus had a constant endeavor as executive director of Hoor Cultural and Art Company. Hoor started its official and professional activity with the production of ISIRAN Institute commercial teaser in 1994. The major characteristics of their commercial animations are focused on character designing art direction, artistic lighting, and active editing.
In 1995 Hoor made its first educational animation the well-known "Electricity Saving" which was followed by "Ba Ba Barghi" series. The new 60 part "Traffic Culture" animation series was made on the basis of traffic culture reform that had a tremendous reflection in Iran. This series was selected as the best method of education in the field of traffic culture in the First Traffic Culture Festival, 2003.
Hoor Cultural and Art Company has also been active in the production of animation series: "Kind Friend" a 32 part animation series (1994), Story of History in 40 parts (1997), "Shahnameh" animations (1997), Stories of Rizeh Mizeh (1999), Adventures of Koosha in 26 parts (2002) and the Holy King Series.
Hoor is also engaged in the production of feature films, Story of Prophets (1997). This film has received the honorable mention title in the 1st international Animation Festival as well as the Roshd Film Festival in 1998. The program title of children’s program Channel II was made by Hoor. In the field of short animation we can refer to "Pot" winner of best animation in the 2nd Animation Festival 2000, Annecy, 2000, France, and Painter and Simorgh which appeared in 3rd Animation Festival, 2002.
Furthermore, Hoor has also taken part in multi-technical projects, such as Aidin Chocolate in 1999. In 1997 Hoor started its multimedia productions on CD, such as “Shahnameh Ferdosi”, school history books, “100 Historical Monuments in Iran”, and some 2D games, Jumpmania and Attack of Mongols for children from 12 to 15.
